Short-form hooks for apps: openers worth a test
The best app hook asks a question the interface can answer quickly.
Make the phone the punchline
A face can stop the scroll. The app has to resolve it. If the next shot cannot answer the hook, pick a smaller claim.
Angles to rotate
Time: “That was the whole task.”
Money: “I stopped paying for the messy version.”
Status: “This is what I send instead of a screenshot.”
Relief: “I do not do this manually anymore.”
Doubt: “I assumed this would be worse.”
Each angle can sit on the same demo. That is the test.
Sound-off still counts
Write the hook as on-screen text. If the line only works when someone hears the tone of voice, half your viewers never get it.
